Free11th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival: A Celebration of Native American Art, Music, and Cultures, Saturday, August 3, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. & Sunday, August 4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Unity Park Waterfront, Turners Falls, MA. Presentations and performances by Mohawk elder Tom Porter; Nipmuck Flute Player Hawk Henries; Mi’kmaq – Celtic Music with Morgan Toney and Band; Social Dancing,and Drums with the Mohawk Nation Singers and Dancers and Iron River Singers; Hula with Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima o Nūioka; Nulhegan Abenaki storytellers, musicians and authors Joseph and Jesse Bruchac, Sito Zapatki, guitarist; Justin Beatty, emcee. Over 40 Indigenous artists and authors, children’s activities, and MORE. Indigenous History and Ceremonial Stone Landscapes presentations with David Brule, Evan Pritchard and Mike Luoma at the History Tent. Savor Indian tacos and other dishes made by Happy Eating Grounds and delicious food from Stone Soup Cafe. Dessert Crooked Stick Pops. Coffee from Stout Pigeon Roasters.
